Militia and Girls That Fly announce the “Sac-Town Gold Rush”
Professional Water-Ski Event June 21st and 22nd, 2011
Ventura, California April 21, 2011 - Militia’s Sac-Town GOLD RUSH will see the World's top Water-Ski Professionals battling it out for a shot at $55,000 in cash at Shortline Lake in Sacramento, CA. This event will be heavily captured in photo and video formats by Militia to show the lifestyle, adventures, backgrounds and what it really feels like at a big cash prize event.
With $55K on the line, the “GOLD RUSH” is the largest cash prize event in years. We expect to see these athletes going all-out, as there is sure to be high competitive intensity and some amazing carnage (there is even a Best Crash Award for those who go down in flames).
“I can’t wait to see everyone in my stomping grounds! Great to bring back a Pro Event to the Golden State!!!” - Sacramento’s Pro Jumper, Brian Kinney.
The Invitation Only Event focuses on promotion and renewing the spirit of Water-Ski sports based on athlete commitment and pride. This will be an amazing opportunity for athletes shooting at records, as the conditions at Shortline Lake are anticipated to be immaculate and the athletes will be hot off of the LA Night Jam. The “Gold Rush” will be shown in a Raw manner, emphasizing freedom of expression (what Militia is all about), lifestyle and some amazing action.

LA Night Jam Adds Pro-Am Slalom
LA Night Jam IV, featuring some of the world's top water ski jumpers competing under the lights, will be held Saturday, June 18 at Tri-Lakes in Zachary, La. A slalom event – LA Night Jam ProAm – open to skiers of all ages and abilities has been added to the event schedule this year.
There will be 12 teams of four amateur slalom skiers. Each slalom skier gets two rounds (Class C) to get a good score. Skiers will be scored individually based on how many buoys over or under your national ranking score. The ranking score will be taken the week of the event.
U.S. athlete Freddy Krueger is the three-time defending men's night jumping champion, while Denmark's June Fladborg is the three-time defending women's champion.
Online Registration Available For NCWSA
A new web-based online system has been implemented for the National Collegiate Water Ski Association, which supports both Team Roster Management and Team Entry and Rotation Planning. All NCWSA teams should now use these tools to manage their respective rosters and to prepare their team entry and rotation plan for each tournament they are entering.
Access to this system is provided through the USA Water Ski Web site's Members-Only area. Team captains or tournament registrars should access these features by first signing onto the Members-Only area with their personal membership identification number. That is accomplished through clicking the Member/Club Login link, which is located in the upper right corner of the USA Water Ski main web page. Once signed in there – important: use your personal membership ID, not a Team or Club ID – then captains or registrars should click on the Collegiate Registration menu item, which is located in the left navigation panel on the Members-Only main page. Here is a link that will take you directly to that Member's Only area sign-in page:https://www.usawaterski.org/members/login/index.asp. NOTE: Log in with personal membership ID.
After selecting either the Team Captain Tools or Registrar Tools item from the Collegiate Registration sub-menu, then further information on the features and usage of this system is available through the Tips/Help button, which will be located on any of those subsequent detail pages.
Please note that paper documents, Excel spreadsheets, or other forms of team entry and rotation plans should no longer be used to communicate such information to NCWSA tournament registrars; instead, this new online system should be used by all teams for entry to all NCWSA tournaments, beginning immediately. Registrars will then collect this information in their Registration Download spreadsheet, which has been newly revised for 2011 to incorporate these details now being supplied online by the team captains.
Look for "Meet Your Board" coming soon on MCWSA!
