Online Registration Info. |
To get started, you will need to sign onto the USA Water Ski Member's Only area -- the Member Login link is located at the upper right corner of the USA Water Ski home page. Be sure you sign in using your personal Membership number, not a club membership number. Once you've signed on there, you will now find a new Collegiate Registration menu item, in the middle of the Left Navigation menu area. When you click this item, it will expand and offer you a number of additional items. What you should select first is the Team Captain's Tools entry.
Before going any further, I would then ask you to click the Instructions button that you will find near the top of that display, and then look over the instructions material that will bring up in a separate browser window. At least read through the Overview section, and get familiar with the way this instruction guide resource is organized, since you may need to come back for particular detail areas later.
All of the members of your team should show in the roster as long as they have scores posted for you team, any new member that you have that do not have any scores will need to be added to your roster to be able to put them in your rotation. Please make sure that everyone that you have on your roster also has a valid email address on file in the system as that will be how they will execute their waiver. The email addresses will show in a pop-up window when you put your mouse pointer on each skier's name. Once you are sure that everyone that you will be having ski for you in in your Team Roster, then you can click on ROTATION PLANS to begin your registration for a specific tournament. This will bring up a list of current tournaments that are active. For example anyone that is going to MO State would need to click on the icon on the right column of that tournament to begin building their team. This will bring up all current members of your roster and you can choose from the drop down the slot that you would like to put each skier. The system has also made it very easy for you to see if anyone does not have up to date USA Waterski Insurance or an email on file. You will not be able to add them to your team for that tournament until they have that updated.
Once you have chosen the spot for each skier in the rotation you will click validate plan, and that will analyze your plan and identify any issues or problems that might arise, such as two people in the same position or not having a position filled. If your plan is found to be acceptable, and you're happy with it, then you will click submit plan, and that will actually submit it for the tournament. When you submit your plan that will also send out an email to each of your skiers, advising that they will need to do the electronic waiver. Please make sure that you are informing your team mates that this will be coming and to check their email as soon as you have completed your roster.

Eligibility Letters Info. |
|
I think by now, most every team knows about eligibility letters for their skiers. Here are the instructions you will need.
For your team to ski the Conference Championships, Regionals, and/or Nationals you must have aneligibility letter from your school registrar for EVERY SKIER ON YOUR A TEAM. This includes anyone that MAY ski A-Team for your team at Conference, Regionals, or Nationals. If you do not have this letter at conference, your school will not be able to ski for placement in A-Team competition. PERIOD
This is the biggest headache that we have in collegiate skiing, but it is absoutely necessary. So please do not make this any harder on anyone than it needs to be. Go ahead and get yours as soon as possible, so it is not a fire drill a few days before Conference.
Once you get your letter, feel free to send a copy of it to myself, or to your Conference Chairmen (Dan Pabst and Jim Grabowski) to look it over and make sure it is correct. They will be the ones checking it at the conference tournament. In the past we have had to not allow some skiers to ski conference because of a missing or incorrect letter, and it is the worst feeling ever. So please, make sure your team doesn't fall into this. We are here to help, this is what the board is for. USE US!!!
Attached is an EXAMPLE of what the eligibilityletter should look like. This is not the exact format that it has to be, but here are the 6 things your eligibilityletter MUST have:
1. This letter must be typed or printed on school stationary.
2. a. This letter must NOT be dated PRIOR to August 27, 2010 for use at Conference and Regionals.
b. The Letter must NOT be dated PRIOR to September 9, 2010, for use at Collegiate Nationals. PLEASE NOTE THIS MAY MEAN THAT FOR NATIONALS TEAMS, YOU MAY HAVE TO GET TWOELIGIBILITY LETTERS. ONE FOR CONFERENCE/REGIONALS AND ONE FOR NATIONALS.
3. The number of students listed must be spelled out and written numerically by the Registrar or an individual letter for each student may be used.
4. The letter must be signed by the Registrar (or Assistant Registrar).
5. The letter must contain the Student's name and ID number. I get a lot of questions on this each year. It does not necessarily have to be the student identification number, but any sort of number that the university identifies with your name.
6. The letter must be embossed with the University Seal.
This is all laid out very clearly for you. You MUST have all 6 of these items on your eligibility letter. So please don't make any of us be the bad guys. Get it done early, and check it with us beforehand, so that you know you and your team are taken care of, and you can put your best team forward.
Please note, to be eligible, you must be a Full-Time Student. The only exception to this is:
This student is taking the minimum hours necessary for graduation in this the last period of his/her academic year of graduation.
Again - Get started on this early! There are many registrar's offices that require at LEAST one week to get these letters to you. Don't push the envelope. And if you aren't sure about your team's letter, ASK US BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT! |

Team Midwest -
This email is about the Team Roster Verification form that is due at Conference Championships.
This form is very simple and is basically to confirm that your club is in good standing with the university. While the eligibility letter deals with the individual, the team roster verification is for mainly checking the status of the club as a whole with the school.
The form is designed to be signed by the director of recreational sports. If that is not the appropriate person to sign this form, then simply cross that out and put the title of the correct person. For example, "Dean of Students" "Director of Club Sports" "Director of Student Activities" etc.
This form is due at your respective CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS.
If there are any questions, please feel free to reach out to Jim Grabowski and Dan Pabst who are your conference chairman and will be the ones checking the form at the conference championships.
The only other thing you will need for Conference is the team and individual dues for MCWSA and NCWSA. Those will be outlined in the week 3 email.
