2008 Midwest Collegiate Regionals

Welcome to the 2008 Midwest Collegiate Regionals, hosted by the University of Illinois Waterski Team
and PITS Ski Club!  This Skier’s Guide is intended to communicate important information about the
tournament and ski site.  Please adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a safe and fun tournament for all:

General
-Pets must be on a leash
-No campfires allowed except for the main campfire between the pavilion and judge’s tower.
-No bottles allowed on site
-10 mph speed limit on site

Parking 
Parking at the site will be tight!  The 2007 Regionals saw a significant increase in number of vehicles on
site, which made parking and getting around very difficult at times.  The following guidelines will ensure
best use of available space:
 -Keep PITS road clear at all times.
 -Automobile parking permitted east of PITS road.
 -No parking west of PITS road, in camping area, or towboat/RV areas.
 -Buses/RV’s:  parking permitted only south of creek directly across from boathouse.
Please send this information on to any parents or friends who will be attending the tournament.

Tournament and Registration
-Registration will be open until midnight Thursday and then be open 6:00-8:00 am Friday morning.
-For teams arriving late, please be sure to designate someone to register your team on Friday morning
before skiing starts, and the deadline is 1 hour before the tournament starts.
-Skiing will begin at 9:00 am Friday and 7:30 am Saturday and Sunday.
-Practice will be available for $10 per set on Thursday from 5:00 pm until sundown.
-Concessions will be available beginning Friday morning and last the duration of the tournament.
 -Friday and Saturday dinner is provided for all skiers and officials—guests may purchase a
 plate for $5.

Fees & Forms
-Individual Entry Fee: $35 – one event, $40 – 2 or 3 events. (includes dinner on Friday and Saturday night).
-Team Entry Fee: $25 per team.

- USA Water Ski membership should be updated, but if there are any new skiers you are bringing,
make sure they have proof of USA Water Ski if needed.
-Eligibility letters – if every skier that you have is on your eligibility letter from Conference, than you are
set to go. If you are bringing a new skier that was not on your conference eligibility letter, you will
need to bring a new eligibility letter for that skier.

Order of Events:

Friday: Women's Slalom --> Men's Slalom
Saturday: Men's Trick --> Women's Jump --> Women's Trick (Time permitting)
Sunday: Women's Trick (Depending on what got done Saturday) --> Men's Jump

Theme is "Escaped from the Nursing Home"

Good luck to all of the teams at Regionals. The top 5 get the golden ticket to Phoenix, Arizona. 6th, 7th,
 and 8th place teams, get placed in the simulated tournament for a shot at the one wild-card invitation.
That team will be notified and decided on Monday October 6.
