Skiers Summer Plans

This Summer I am....

Jamie Zeal

1) What are your summer plans?

Working in a neuroscience research lab in Columbus, Cincinnati, or Knoxville... filling out medical school applications.. and being a ski bum in my spare time.

2) What are you most excited about this summer?

Sunshine. Warm water. Not going into shock when I hop in the lake... I really hate being cold.

3) Who do you plan to ski with?

Depends which city I'm in...

4) Do you plan on skiing any tournaments? Which ones?

Hopefully. See above. Bootsarosa?

5) Where is your favorite place that you will get to ski this summer?

Bootsarosa: Beautiful lake. Awesome people. All for love of the sport and having a good time. Can't beat the Boots.

6) What do you plan to accomplish this summer? Ski goals?

If I could get into shortline in a tournament, get some consistency in trick, and jump far... that'd be pretty cool.

Maddy Baldwin

1) What are your summer plans?

Working and ski bum are synonymous for me since I nanny fulltime for 3 boys who are 11, 15, and 17 and are competitive skiers who live on a lake, so we ski quite a bit! I also will be taking one summer class.

2) What are you most excited about this summer?

I am most excited to get back home to the warm weather and where I can ski in my backyard whenever I want to!

3) Who do you plan to ski with?

I plan to ski with my boys (the ones I nanny), my boyfriend Nick Wiggleweiner, my family, and anyone who wants to come visit me, which usually comprises of Jane Erickson, Jemma Wahl, Matthew Knafla, Kevin Klingbeil, Heather Donen, Dan Shuman, Ian Arveson, but all are welcome anytime!

4) Do you plan on skiing any tournaments? Which ones?

I plan on skiing in the TEAM MIDWEST SUMMER SHAKEDOWN as all of you should!(July 9-10 in Evansdale, IA), 10,000 Lakes Pick and Choose, MN State, Midwest Regionals, and possibly Nationals!

5) Where is your favorite place that you will get to ski this summer?

anywhere and everywhere

6) What do you plan to accomplish this summer? Ski goals?

PB in all 3 events, which would require me to get more than 3 at 32 off, learn a new trick and jump more than 76 feet!

Ryan Christopher

1) What are your summer plans?

Working and taking class, trying to sneak is any many ski sets as possible in between.

2) What are you most excited about this summer?

Seeing if all of my winter conditioning paid off and getting a sweet skier tat on my arm so all the ladies can see while I'm fist pumping with my boy T-gas.

3) Who do you plan to ski with?

Hopefully the Coble crew a few times.

4) Do you plan on skiing any tournaments?

Little Mountain Ski Club, Mountain View, Ga State Championships, Regionals, and Nationals.

5) Where is your favorite place that you will get to ski this summer?

Coble Ski School Lake 2.

6) What do you plan to accomplish this summer?

Ski goals? Run 35 in a tournament.

Zach Nipon

1) What are your summer plans?

I'll be working at Swiss Ski School for a few months, then finishing up the summer working at April Coble's

2) What are you most excited about this summer?

Most excited to ski with everybody at Coble's (you know who you are)

3) Who do you plan to ski with?

Been skiing with Ty Oppenlander, Karina Nowlan, April Coble, Chris Eller, and all the Coble Ski staff (best group of skiers ever)

4) Do you plan on skiing any tournaments? Which ones?

Yes, all of them I can find up until the NY States, Eastern Regionals, and Nationals

5) Where is your favorite place that you will get to ski this summer?

Swiss Ski School is my favorite site to ski at

6) What do you plan to accomplish this summer? Ski goals?

I plan on cleaning 38 off and getting 3 or 4 at 39.

Interning at Cummins Inc. in Columbus, IN

2) What are you most excited about this summer? Tournament, vacation, etc.

making money, then spending it on skiing, summer tournaments

Whoever I can!

Tyler Thompson

1) What are your summer plans?

This summer will be filled with Graduate School and Skiing. I start with the Crop Science and Genetics Program at University of Illinois in May. I will be taking a few trips as well. Some to North Carolina, Maine, New Hampshire, Minnesota and Colorado; all for skiing of course.

2) What are you most excited about this summer?

I am looking forward to this scenario... Me coaching and Ryan Christopher driving on Lake 2 at Coble's Water Ski Camp while torturing...oops I mean pulling, our most favorite person to pull; Clay Phillips.

3) Who do you plan to ski with?

I have three ski friends that will be around most of the time this Summer... My new roommate Brett Christian Mommer PhD., Traci "Oh Pierre" Weiss, and my fellow founder of the Illinois State Ski Awesomness... THE Shelly Tranchita! Other than that...any randoms that I can fill in!

4) Do you plan on skiing any tournaments? Which ones?

Tournaments. Yes I plan to. They will be whichever my grad school schedule allows for me. Being in agriculture, It's hard to get away this time of the year.

5) Where is your favorite place that you will get to ski this summer?

My favorite place in the whole wide world of waterskiing... my home lake Du Lac in Gibson City Illinois...formerly know as Get-Some-City because of the Timmes Twins!!

6) What do you plan to accomplish this summer? Ski goals?

This summer I am putting in a Record Slalom Course. Been taking dive lessons to facillitate this. I hope to break my PB currently driven by Steven Greene. And I really really want to be in a bar sometime with my favorite Georgians, Virginians, and Carolinans again...

Jane Erickson

1) What are your summer plans?

This summer I will be unfortunately studying! However, I will
definitely take many daily breaks from being nerdy to get out on the
water.

2) What are you most excited about this summer?

I am most excited about the state of Minnesota hosting the Midwest
Regionals!
3) Who do you plan to ski with?

I plan on skiing with my dad..yeah I haven't quite grown up yet.
4) Do you plan on skiing any tournaments? Which ones?

My tournament schedule will consist of Iowa's Summer Shakedown, MN
State, Regionals, and possibly Nationals.
5) Where is your favorite place that you will get to ski this summer?

I love skiing in Center City, MN
6) What do you plan to accomplish this summer? Ski goals?

I'm hoping to see as many friends as possible and make time to
enjoy the sport.

Taking Summer Classes at Iowa State and skiing as much as possible.

Skiing at Dream Lakes over the summer

1) What are your summer plans?)

Finish building the new Cuneo Hall @ loyola University and Ski as much as I can.

2) What are you most excited about this summer?

Having money for new ski equipt. and taking vacations to ski!

3) Who do you plan to ski with?

Anyone in the IL, my sunset bootleggers and hopefully you Shell!

4) Do you plan on skiing any tournaments? Which ones?

Yes hopefully Green Lighting, MW Summer Shakedown, Nationals in IL,

and hopefully my first Pro stop the Malibu Open since I finally got my Open rating.

5) Where is your favorite place that you will get to ski this summer?

Sunset lakes w/ the bootleggers (manhattan il), then shannon shores.

6) What do you plan to accomplish this summer? Ski goals?

I would like to jump 190+, get into 32' off, and land a flip.
